Phase 2: Ground Investigation Report (GIR)

Geo Environmental Engineering specialises in designing, implementing and project managing cost effective ground investigations utilising our specialist equipment to meet all our clients’ requirements and to comply with current legislation and best practices, with the Phase 2: Ground Investigation works designed to satisfy any planning conditions that may apply. Depending upon the recommendations made within the Phase 1: Desk Top Study Report the Phase 2: Ground Investigation works may comprise of the following:

  • Trial pitting with mechanical plant
  • Dynamic sampling boreholes
  • Cable percussion boreholes
  • Rotary drilling (open hole and coring)
  • Insitu Testing (Dynamic Probes, SPT, CPT, CBR and Hand Shear Vane)
  • Groundwater and ground gas monitoring
  • UKAS and MCERTS accredited laboratories for geotechnical and ground contamination related testing

We can project manage all investigation works from inception to completion, undertaking laboratory based geotechnical and ground contamination testing, complete insitu groundwater and ground gas monitoring and provide both factual and interpretive ground investigation reports. Where required, we can undertake Human Health and Controlled Waters Risk Assessments (Generic Quantitative Risk Assessment and Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessment) to determine if the ground conditions below the site are suitable and appropriate for the proposed end use.

We also act as project managers and data collectors for large international consultancies and organisations, who benefit from our knowledge of the UK and our various resources. In addition, as part of our project management role we are able to satisfy health and safety requirements, supplying security fencing and organising traffic management where necessary.
